The Brookings Bobcats split a triangular at the Hillcrest Tennis courts, defeating Aberdeen Central 5-4 and falling to Huron 9-0 on Saturday morning.

Bobcats split home triangular

BROOKINGS — The Brookings Bobcats split a triangular at the Hillcrest Tennis courts, defeating Aberdeen Central 5-4 and falling to Huron 9-0 on Saturday morning.

The Bobcats are now 3-11 on the season and will travel to the ESD Tournament in Pierre beginning at 2 p.m. Monday.

Brookings 5, Aberdeen Central 4

Braylon Peters picked up one of three singles wins for the Bobcats, defeating A.J. Prehn 10-8 in the first flight. Stefan Nikolic beat Brock Anderson 10-2 in the second flight and Zach Mueller defeated Mika Dannen 10-9 with a 7-1 tiebreaker in the fifth flight.

Carson Kreie fell to Dawson Pederson 10-3 in the third flight while Xavier St. Pierre lost to Aric Tennant 10-4 in the fourth flight. Andrew Hahn lost to Gannon Pederson 10-7 in the sixth flight.

Nikolic and St. Pierre defeated Dannen and Gannon Pederson 10-9 with an 8-6 tiebreaker in the second doubles flight while Mueller and Hahn defeated Dawson Pederson and Anderson 10-5 in the third doubles flight. Peters and Kreie lost to Prehn and Tennant 10-6 in the first doubles flight.

Huron 9, Brookings 0

The Tigers swept the singles matches beginning with Dah Moo’s 10-1 win over J.C. St. Pierre in the first flight. Nikolic lost to Matthew Thin 10-3 in the second flight and Kreie lost to Lah Doh Soe 10-6 in the third flight.

Xavier St. Pierre lost to Hser Wah 10-9 with a 9-7 tiebreaker in the third flight and Mueller lost to Say Poe 10-4 in the fifth flight. Hahn lost to Ler Hei Moo 10-8 in the sixth flight.

J.C St. Pierre and Kreie lost to Dah Moo and Ler Hei Moo 10-4 in the first doubles flight while Nikolic and Xavier St. Pierre lost to Lah Doh Soe and Wah 10-1 in the second doubles flight. Muller and Hahn lost to Poe and Thin 10-4 in the third doubles flight.
