BROOKINGS – The Boys & Girls Club of Brookings serves a younger population.
The Early Childhood Education Center opened in August 2014 and offers morning preschool, full-day preschool and full-day junior kindergarten programs. There is also a continued education program which is open from 3:30-6 p.m. each night, available on its own, or in addition to other programming.
“We are a state licensed facility, which means that we follow a 1:10 ratio of teachers to students. As an added benefit, all of our teachers also carry four-year degrees,” said Michelle Friedrich, early childhood education director at the Boys & Girls Club of Brookings. “In addition, our Clubhouse students get the opportunity to use the full-size gym, as well as the art room at the club on a daily basis.”
With benefits like early drop off, transportation, and a full-day option for no school and snow days, the Clubhouse has programs to fit all schedules and needs. Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is still open. Applications can be found online at www.greatfuturessd.org.
