VOLGA – A Bruce man was taken to the hospital after an early morning accident Tuesday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday and occurred at the intersection of Highway 14 and 466th Avenue, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

Jordan Miller, 29, of Bruce, was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram south on 466th Avenue, just east of Volga, Sebring said.

“(He) did not see the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 14. The vehicle went through the intersection, where it vaulted and landed in the south ditch,” Sebring said.

“The driver was transported to the Brookings hospital by the Brookings Ambulance with unknown injuries,” he added.

The Ram was deemed a total loss.

Also responding to the scene was the Volga Fire Department.

The accident is under investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
