SIOUX FALLS – For the third time this season and second week in a row, South Dakota State’s Mike Daum was named Summit League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Daum averaged a double-double in a pair of dominant Jackrabbit victories, helping his team take down UMKC 75-47 and Northern Iowa 82-50. Daum put up 25 points and 14.5 rebounds per game, shooting 68.2 percent from the field. He tallied 26 points and 18 rebounds against the Kangaroos and closed the week with 24 points and 11 boards against the Panthers, going 6-of-8 from the floor and 11-of-12 at the foul line.

The Jackrabbit forward now has seven double-doubles on the year and ranks 82nd on the NCAA’s all-time scoring chart with 2,449 career points. He is third in league history and just 55 points shy of the record of 2,504 held by Oral Roberts’ Caleb Green.

The Kimball, Neb., native has now been recognized 14 times in his career as the league’s weekly honoree. He trails only Nate Wolters and Green who each won it 15 times, for the most in league history.

Daum was also selected as CollegeSportsMadness’ Summit League Player of the Week and CollegeInsider’s Luke Olson Award National Player of the Week.
