Girls’ soccer falls to Watertown

BROOKINGS – Watertown’s Regan Campbell tallied a natural hat trick as the Arrows topped the Bobcats 6-2 in an Eastern South Dakota Conference girls’ soccer match Tuesday evening at Fishback.

Campbell was credited with a score on an own goal by Brookings. She took advantage of a pair of breakaway opportunities after that to help Watertown build a 4-1 lead at intermission.

Mara Nelson put the visitors on the board first after converting a rebound in the ninth minute.

Emily Rystrom found the back of the net for Brookings in the 14th minute. Maddix Archer was credited with the assist.

Watertown’s Isabella Kerkvliet (60th minute) and Rylie Campbell (72nd) scored after the break to provide for the final margin. Regan Campbell assisted on Kerkvliet’s tally.

Grace Mork made 10 saves for the Bobcats.

Brookings (0-2) is host to Huron on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
