Herrboldt, Terkildsen to perform recital

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University senior music education majors Austin Herrboldt and Ashlynne Terkildsen will hold a recital at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Peterson Recital Hall in the Lincoln Music Hall on campus.

The program features pieces on marimba, including a multipercussion piece, “The Downfall of Paris” by William Kraft, which will have SDSU Associate Professor Aaron Ragsdale onstage. The program also features pieces by Jeremiah Clarke, Gordon Jacob, Daniel Steibelt and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Herrboldt, who is from Menno, plays multiple percussion instruments and has participated in the SDSU Percussion Ensemble, Statesmen, Concert Band, The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band, Communiversity Band and Orchestra.

Terkildsen, who is from Woonsocket primarily plays the trumpet and has participated in the SDSU Women’s Choir, Concert Band, Pep Band, The Pride of Dakotas Marching Band and Percussion Ensemble.

They will be assisted by Noelle Allerdings, Bailey Chords, Josiah Crawford, Tanner Goodall, Xuan Kuang, Julia Orkerman, Liz Pauli, Candace Pederson, Duel Shape and John Walker.
