SDSU golf teams in 14th, 16th

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The South Dakota State men’s golf team carded a 36-hole score of 584 (293-291) on Monday and sits in 14th place at the Ram Masters Invitational at the 7,218-yard, par-70 Fort Collins Country Club.

Host Colorado State leads the way at 13-under-par 547 (281-266). Illinois State sits in second at 2-under 558 (280-278).

Wyoming’s Dan Starzinksi holds a one-stroke lead individually after opening with a 7-under 133 (67-66). Colorado State’s Parathakorn Suyasri (68-66—134) and Jake Staiano (71-65—136) are second and third, respectively.

The Jackrabbits’ Jacob Otta (72-72—143) is tied for 27th, Jared Nicolls (72-75—147) is tied for 55th, Harry Duggan (75-75—150) is tied for 73rd, Alejandro Perazzo (82-70—152) is tied for 80th and Sam Batta (74-79—153) is tied for 85th.

The tournament, which features 17 teams and 96 individuals, wraps up today.

Women

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The South Dakota State women’s golf team shot 617 (310-307) on Monday and is in 16th place at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate, hosted by Tennessee at the 5,900-yard, par-71 Cherokee Country Club.

Charlotte leads the event at 17-over-par 585 (293-292) and Kent State is second with a 36-hole score of 587 (303-284).

Middle Tennessee’s Hanley Long tops the individual leaderboard at 1-under 141 (69-72). Charlotte’s Siarra Stout (70-72) and Cecelie Finne-Ipsen (72-70) and Tennessee’s Mikayla Bardwell (73-69) are tied for second at even-par 142.

The Jackrabbits’ Teresa Toscano (73-77—150) is tied for 27th, Cassidy Laidlaw (78-79—157) is tied for 71st, Lani Potter (77-81—158) and Mia Seeman (82-76) are tied for 77th, and Sydney Bormann (87-75—162) is tied for 87th.
