35 area basketball players from seven different teams were honored by the Dakota Valley Conference as they were named to the All-DVC teams.

Dakota Valley Conference honors 35 Brookings-area players

Thirty-five area basketball players from seven different teams were honored by the Dakota Valley Conference as they were named to the All-DVC teams.

Girls

Twenty-two girls’ basketball players around the Brookings’ area were honored by the DVC.

Arlington led the way with five players being honored. Junior Addalyn Steffensen was named the conference’s Most Valuable Player and Arlington head coach Tara King was named DVC Coach of the Year after the Cardinals went 9-0 and won the conference.

Addalyn Steffensen was joined on the All-DVC First Team by sophomore Jaelyn Huntimer for the Cardinals. Senior Harley Johnson and junior Jolyssa Steffensen were named to the All-DVC Second Team. Freshman Isabelle Steffensen was the last honoree named as an honorable mention All-DVC.

Colman-Egan had four players honored by the conference after the Hawks finished second in the DVC with a record of 7-2. Sophomore Brynlee Landis was named to the All-DVC First Team. Junior Kaylee Voelker and senior Lanie Mousel were each named to the Third Team and junior Presley Luze was an honorable mention.

Elkton-Lake Benton had three players honored after going 4-5 in conference play and tying with Estelline/Hendricks, Deubrook Area, Iroquois/Lake Preston and Castlewood for fourth. Senior Tevan Erickson was named to the All-DVC First Team and senior Kylie Ramlo was named to the Second Team. Sophomore Charlie Thooft was an honorable mention.

Estelline/Hendricks had three players honored as the Redhawks went 4-5 in conference play. Seniors Kenzy Beare and Sadie Johnson were each on the All-DVC Third Team and junior Alya Texley was an honorable mention.

Iroquois/Lake Preston had three players honored as well. Junior Adison Moore was named to the First Team and sophomore Hadlee Holt was named to the Third Team. Senior Faith Steffensen was an honorable mention.

Deubrook Area had two players honored. Senior Kadence Bowne was named to the Second Team and sophomore Mataya Gouws was an honorable mention.

Oldham-Ramona-Rutland had two players honored as well after the raider went 2-7 in conference play. Senior Julia Trygstad was named to the All-DVC First Team and senior Alivia Bickett was an honorable mention.

Boys

Thirteen boys were honored by the conference for basketball.

Deubrook and Colman-Egan led the boys’ side with three honorees apiece. Senior Jake Jorenby was named to the First Team for the Dolphins. Senior Gavin Landmark was named to the Third Team and senior Colton Trooien was an honorable mention.

Junior Jase Mousel was named to the Second Team for the Hawks and junior Jackson Zwart was named to the Third Team. Junior Jase Mousel was an honorable mention.

Estelline/Hendricks and Eltkon-Lake Benton each had two honorees. Senior Mattix Hausman was named to the Second Team for the Redhawks and junior Wyat James was an honorable mention. Senior Carson Griffith was named to the Third Team for the Elks and junior Tanner Drietz was an honorable mention.

Sophomore Paxton Rheault of Arlington, senior Josh McMasters of Iroquois/Lake Preston and senior Caden Hojer of Oldham-Ramona-Rutland were all honorable mentions.
