Barbara Jean Frevert, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday Feb. 10, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Barb was born on July 19, 1951, in Estelline, South Dakota, to William and Marjorie Allstot (Hillerud). She received her GED in 1968 in Brookings, South Dakota.

She married the late Warren (Pee-Wee) Iverson after high school and they were blessed with three children, Nicole, Cory, and Jason. After Pee-Wee’s early death in 1982, she found her second love and married Mark Frevert on Jan. 28, 1983, in Brookings, South Dakota.

She had worked as an electronics technician at Daktronics in Brookings. She loved working on electronics and was chosen to install a Daktronics voting system in the State Capitol of Wisconsin.

Barbara enjoyed the travels associated with being an Air Force wife. She gave birth to Jessica at Lackland AFB, in San Antonio, Texas. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as their family grew. She was a Bingo fanatic and enjoyed hitting the machines for entertainment. She took pride in her hair and nails, the Vikings and watching her grandchildren play sports. She loved to snack on milk duds, whoppers, and her occasional chocolate malt.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Mark; her children, Nicole (Rick) Mausbach of Aurora, Colorado, Cory Iverson of Hot Springs, South Dakota, Jason (Melissa) Iverson of Box Elder, South Dakota, Jessica (Chris) Frevert-Jay of Hot Springs, South Dakota, along with her nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.
