Tuesday, Jan. 2

  • 8:48 a.m. Officers took a call related to a false report.
  • 11:04 a.m. Officers received a call regarding a possible fraud / theft. A report was filed.
  • 11:41 a.m. Brookings police responded to a call regarding a minor accident hit-and-run at Walmart. The incident is currently under investigation.
  • 12:18 p.m. BPD officers took a report of a non-injury accident.
  • 12:42 p.m. Officers received a report regarding a theft that occurred in the 1700 block of Sixth Street. A report was filed.
  • 7:52 p.m. Officers responded to the 200 Block of Daktronics Drive for a report of an accident. A report was generated.

Wednesday, Jan. 3

  • 8:39 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a drug report from the 600 block of 22nd Avenue South.
  • 9:53 a.m. The Brookings Police Department, the Brookings Fire Department and the Brookings Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 20th Street South and 17th Avenue South.
  • 11:16 a.m. Officers responded to a ambulance call in the area of 1200 Windsor Drive.
  • 1:02 p.m. Officers took a report of found property.
  • 5:12 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a warrant.
  • 6:56 p.m. The Brookings Police Department located a stolen vehicle.

Thursday, Jan. 4

  • 2:15 a.m. Brookings Police assisted the Brookings Ambulance.
  • 1:33 p.m. The Brookings Police Department filed charges in regards to a sex offender who failed to register.
  • 2:33 p.m. Officers responded to a welfare check. A report was taken.
  • 4:59 p.m. A Brookings police officer took a report of a protection order violation. A report was generated.
  • 5:36 p.m. Police officers took a report of a two-vehicle non-injury accident.
  • 7:19 p.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic accident, No injuries were reported.
  • 7:21 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for an assault that had taken place. The assault was between a mother and her daughter.
  • 9:14 p.m. Officers were called to a residence to conduct a welfare check. It was determined that a male party had a no-contact order with the other party. An arrest was made for violation of a no-contact order.
  • 10:11 p.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop. The driver was later arrested for several charges.

Friday, Jan. 5

  • 8 a.m. Brookings police investigated a possible assault and stalking incident. An arrest was made and the incident was documented.
  • 9:58 a.m. Officers received a report of an individual having a mental health crisis.

Saturday, Jan. 6

  • 8:39 a.m. Police responded to a call regarding mental health concerns.
  • 9:51 a.m. Brookings Police responded to a single-vehicle accident.
  • 1:39 p.m. Police took a report of a suspect fictitious driver’s license at the Brookings Liquor Store.
  • 7:53 p.m. Officers took a report of harassment.
  • 11 p.m. Officers took a non-injury accident report.

Sunday, Jan. 7

  • 9:29 a.m. Officers took a call for a non-injury accident.
  • 3:27 p.m. Brookings police stopped a vehicle. The driver was cited for driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • 5:34 p.m. Officers were dispatched to 2200 block of Sixth Street for a trespassing issue. One female was arrested for an outstanding warrant. A report was filed.

Monday, Jan. 8

  • 1:27 a.m. Officers arrested a male for DUI.
  • 6:40 a.m. Officers received a report of snowmobiles stolen through the night. Incident is being investigated.
  • 8:57 a.m. Officers were made aware of a threat at a business. A walk through and investigation was performed.
  • 9:58 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took an animal bite report.
  • 10:34 a.m. A parent advised law enforcement of some concerns.
  • 11:02 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a drug informational report.
