SIOUX FALLS - South Dakota State softball’s Shannon Lasey and Emma Osmundson were recognized by The Summit League on Monday. Lasey was tabbed as the TicketSmarter co-Peak Pitcher of the Week and Osmundson was named the TicketSmarter Peak Performer of the week by the conference office.

Lasey recorded two complete-game shutout victories over the course of the past week. The senior pitcher was stellar in the circle going all seven innings in SDSU’s 7-0 mid-week victory over Minnesota on Wednesday. She then put together a solid five-inning performance in an 8-0 run-rule win against St. Thomas on Saturday.

In each start Lasey gave up just four hits. She struck out a combined seven hitters between the two games. She’s now 10-8 overall on the season with a 4.29 ERA. She’s 4-0 in five starts in conference play with a 0.90 ERA.

The weekly honor is the first of Lasey’s career as a Jackrabbit.
Osmundson put together an impressive week while helping lead the Jackrabbits to three victories.

A majority of SDSU’s seven runs in the victory over the Gophers on Wednesday came off the bat of Osmundson. The senior right fielder went 2-for-4 at the plate with a three-run triple and an RBI double. She then went 3-for-5 combined in a doubleheader sweep of St. Thomas on Saturday.

Across the two-game set Osmundson scored three runs, hit a three-run home run and drove in five RBIs. The week saw Osmundson go 5-for-9 hitting with four doubles, a triple, a home run and nine RBIs. She currently leads The Summit League in doubles (17) and runs batted in (44).

The Sioux Falls native was honored as the Peak Performer of the Week for the second time this season. Osmundson has been tabbed with the award four times in her college career.

South Dakota State closes out its regular season this weekend. The Jackrabbits head to Omaha to face the Mavericks beginning with a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. on Friday.
