‘Christmas, Kids and Cops’ a big success

Brookings Area Law Enforcement would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their recent donations to our youth program. The contributions were used for the “Christmas, Kids and Cops” event which was held on Dec. 13th,at the Brookings Walmart store. Each family was able to shop for gifts and received a food box filled with everything needed for a Christmas dinner along with gift cards to area businesses.

This event brings members of the Brookings Police Department and Reserve, Brookings and Kingsbury County Sheriff’s Departments and Dispatch, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department, South Dakota Highway Patrol and the SDSU Police Department together to meet with and shop for 39 students enrolled at the following schools: Brookings, Deubrook, Elkton, Arlington and Sioux Valley.

The donations of money by the donors listed below, workers at Subway, and the many volunteers who helped by shopping for food and giftwrapping presents, allowed everyone that was involved with an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate each other and the Christmas Holiday season. We could not run a successful event without great help and guidance from the Walmart team members. We are so grateful for everyone’s assistance in this yearly activity and are hopeful that everyone who was involved had a wonderful experience.
