Tuesday, May 3
12:35 a.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between two siblings in the 1400 block of 12th Street South. The siblings were separated prior to officers’ arrival. They remained separated for the remainder of the morning. A report was taken.
8:23 a.m. Brookings Police officers were dispatched to 11th Street and Main Avenue for a non-injury accident with one vehicle involved. A report was taken.
11:17 a.m. Law enforcement took a report of an accident that happened on May 2 in Brookings.
2:11 p.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Second Avenue for a suicidal person. One person was transported to the Brookings ER for evaluation.
9:16 p.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Sixth Street for a speeding violation. After further investigation, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence and other charges.
Wednesday, May 4
4:41 a.m. Officers responded to the 800 block of Onaka Trail for a report of domestic assault. The incident is under investigation, and a report was generated.
10:45 a.m. Brookings Police officers responded to the 600 block of Fifth Avenue for a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. A report was generated.
10:54 a.m. Officer Page assisted Brookings Behavioral Health with getting involuntary commitment paperwork signed and a juvenile male to the ER.
4:52 p.m. Brookings Police officers responded to the 2200 block of Sixth Street for a report of suspicious activity. Possible theft was detected, and a report was generated.
7:39 p.m. Officers responded to the Brookings Hospital for a dog bite. A report was filed.
11:05 p.m. Officers responded to the 700 block of 11th Avenue for a hit-and-run vehicle accident. A report was filed.
Thursday, May 5
12:58 a.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of Main Avenue to a report of a possible fake ID. One person was arrested.
1:17 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for an improper turn. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
2:55 a.m. Officers were alerted to several street signs that had been vandalized in the 700 and 800 blocks of Seventh Street. A report was generated.
11:06 a.m. Brookings Police officers responded to the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South for a suicidal female. She was transported to the ER, and a report was generated.
2:02 p.m. Brookings Police officers received a report of a sexual assault involving two minors. A report was generated, and an investigation is ongoing.
5:26 p.m. Brookings Police investigated an animal bite in the 900 block of Tumbleweed Road.
6:05 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a motor vehicle accident in the 800 block of Seventh Avenue. A report was filed.
6:18 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received information of the location of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located, and the driver stopped in the 1400 block of Pheasant Run Road. The driver of the vehicle was arrested, and a report was filed.
6:57 p.m. Officers took a report of shoplifting in the 2200 block of Sixth Street. A report was generated.
