BROOKINGS – A Brookings woman was injured in a motorcycle vs. deer accident over the weekend, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
Kevin Harms, 54, of Brookings was driving a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on 459th Avenue, north of 201st Street with Lisa Harms, 53, of Brookings as a passenger.
“A deer entered the roadway. The motorcycle collided with the deer,” Sebring said. The crash occurred at 1:13 p.m. Sunday.
“Lisa Harms was thrown from the motorcycle. Both the driver and passenger were wearing helmets and eye protection. The driver was not injured,” he said.
“Lisa Harms was transported by private party to the Brookings hospital to be seen for unknown injuries,” Sebring said.
The motorcycle sustained $5,000 in damage.
Bruce Fire and Rescue and the Brookings Ambulance responded to the accident.
The accident is under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
