BROOKINGS – Dale Storhaug receives his first COVID-19 vaccination at the community vaccination center held Thursday at the Swiftel Center.
The vaccination center, also referred to as a point of dispensing or POD for short, administered 1,000 vaccine doses to Brookings County residents age 65 years and older.
According to Brookings County Emergency Manager Bob Hill, the event was the first COVID-19 POD held in South Dakota.
The Brookings County Pandemic Planning and Coordination Committee hopes to hold another community vaccination center in the very near future.
