BROOKINGS – “Never let a good crisis go to waste,” were among the welcoming words of Principal Paul von Fischer at the Brookings High School Homecoming Coronation on Monday evening at the BHS track.

Calling the evening’s festivities “a glass half-full,” he added, “There is good stuff that we can squeeze out of this adversity … to make us better people.”

A very reduced-in-size and masked crowd, composed of parents, grandparents and a few guests, watched the parade onto the track by the five lord candidates and five lady candidates.

Meanwhile, students viewed the festivities from the periphery, watching through the fence.

Above, from left, the candidates were Emma Rice, Ike Johnson, Nayeli Lopez, Keegan Fields, Jenna Schoon, Wes Koenig, Kolbey Weier, Cherish Stern, Zoe Ton and Zeke Wilkins.

Following brief introductions of the court came the crowning of Lady Cherish Stern followed by the crowning of Lord Zeke Wilkins, shown below.
