Posted

The Medary Creek Beavers held their monthly meeting in Aurora at Little Hall on Nov. 13.

President Maddisyn Thompson called the meeting to order. The club said the flag pledge and the 4-H pledge.

The roll call was “If you could have any superpower, what would it be?”

Hannah Jo read the secretary’s report, and we made no amendments. Jackson gave the treasurer’s report, and we made no amendments.

Old business: A report was given on walking in the Hobo Day Parade. Kampmanns, Skovlys, and Thompsons all donated bars for recognition night on Nov. 15 at the Brooking County Outdoor Adventure Center

New business: The club discussed 2022-23 enrollment, membership and insurance. Medary Creek Beavers met at Walmart on Nov. 19 to shop for Thanksgiving meal supplies and Project Joy gifts. Members also signed up for bell ringing for the Salvation Army in front of Walmart for Nov. 22-23.

The club participated in decorating a Christmas tree for Elkton’s Festival of Trees on Nov. 30 at 2:15 p.m.

Phone books will need to be delivered to Elkton and Aurora and we are waiting for a day and volunteers to help deliver them. Also, Jackson gave a presentation on photography basics.

Community service and 4-H promotion: In November, the club made Thanksgiving placemats for local nursing homes. We used our hands to make turkeys on the placemats. We also made centerpieces using American flags and planes for the Elkton Band Banquet.

The next meeting will be Sunday. It will be our Christmas party at the Brookings Bowling Alley and potluck at the Aurora Little Hall.
