4-H news published 09-18-23: Medary Creek Beavers

The Medary Creek Beavers held their monthly meeting on Sept. 10 at 4:30 p.m. at the Bushnell Park. Ten members, one leader and five guests were present.

Maddisyn called the meeting to order, Jadin led the Flag Pledge and Hayes led the 4-H Pledge. Roll call was “How did you do at the State Fair?”

Old business discussed: How did you do at the state dog show and State Fair.

New business discussed: Members were reminded to pick up their exhibits from the Extension office and to start working on their record books as they are due by Oct. 6 to the Extension office. Oct. 14 will be the Hobo Day Parade for all to walk in and promote 4-H.

Also, Oct. 1 is the start of the new 4-H year. Members need make sure to go online and re-enroll.

National 4-H week will be Oct. 1-7, members were asked to wear their 4-H shirts and talk to their friends about joining 4-H and all the activities you can participate in. Lastly, mark your calendar for Nov. 14, as that will be 4-H Recognition Night at the Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center with supper starting at 5:15 p.m. and awards starting at 6:30. p.m.
