BROOKINGS – It was a typical Hobo Day weekend, with 62 people arrested and brought to jail for various charges, most alcohol or drug-related, said Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring of the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
“These are the arrests that were booked into the Brookings County Detention Center from Friday, Oct. 13, at 12 a.m. through Sunday, Oct. 15, at 12 p.m.,” Sebring said.
The arrests were made by various law enforcement agencies in the area.
The totals and offenses are:
• 21 DUI charges
• 53 drug-related charges
• 5 assault charges
• 1 disorderly conduct/resisting arrest charge
• 23 underage possession of alcohol or open container charges
• 5 common nuisance charges
• 3 obstructing law enforcement / false impersonation charges
• 2 fleeing law enforcement charges
• 2 entering remaining/unlawful occupancy charges
• 21 miscellaneous traffic charges
• 2 other miscellaneous holds
