A little love will help us through the crisis

Is the recent isolation really all that bad for most people? Sure, many people get lonely, anxious or restless, and some may get some cabin fever, but is spending time at home as bad as people make it out to be? Most people try to spend as much time as they can away from home or out with friends, but the cure to this isolation might be what has been keeping us isolated for the last few days.

The coronavirus has caused most people to have to stay in or near their homes, and this would seem to cause some problems. This is because many people have a hard time agreeing with family. You would think that someone you know so well would be easy to live with. This is usually not the case.

For example, I have slept in the same room as my younger brother for my whole life, and we still disagree constantly.

Normally this is easy to avoid because of school and other daily commitments, but the isolation from other people that has been ordered, also causes concentration of families. Being stuck together with someone for days on end can be hard because people have differing opinions. Family would seem to be easier to stand, but as shown with my situation, this is not the case. Someone you know well can actually be harder to get along with because siblings always know how to get on each other’s nerves, and children call for a lot of attention too.

This gives a strong reason for people to dislike isolation like this, but there is another side to the isolation. While it may increase family tensions, it also gives families time to be with one another that isn’t rushed into or forced upon them. These situations bring families together and allow them to work together as a family. While stress might be a big problem, love will become a solution to that problem. Even those without family at home will feel this because of their longing to be with family and friends.

With a little bit of love, and some board games too, people will push through these hard times. Family is the solution to today’s world full of isolation, and this virus can help bring us together. Isolation isn’t all that bad when you have family to spend it with.
