Funeral services were held  Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at the Flandreau United Methodist Church with burial in Union Cemetery in Flandreau. Visitation was Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau.

Aaron W. Scofield was born Feb. 12, 1971, in the Brookings Hospital, son of Wayne and Darlene (Doyle) Heinricy. He received his elementary education starting in Brookings and finishing at Belgrade, Montana. He graduated from Colman High School in 1989. Aaron attended Dakota State College while working part-time at T & R Electric. He worked for the Moody County Highway Department and was currently at T & R Electric. Aaron raised Black Angus cattle on his acreage, doing one heck of a good job with them and his new Blue Heeler pup – Baby.

He loved it when he, Cody and Shane would work cattle and did “Outlaw Trucking” with the Ram trucks. His trip to San Diego with Shane and Wil to watch the “Chargers” play was a big event for him. Nascar was big on his list also. He got his Mom and Paula hooked on driver Jamie McMurray. Aaron enjoyed his lunch time at work with Paula in the guard shack planning events to attend together at SDSU, including basketball games and Prairie Repertory Theatre plays. Aaron was an avid reader, reading all of Louis L’amour’s books.

He is survived by his father Wayne Scofield, Garden City, Kansas; his mother Darlene (Doyle) Heinricy and her husband Dick of Colman; brothers, Shane Scofield and Wil Scofield, both of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters, Paula Heinricy of Colman, Natalie (Scofield) Breidenstine and her husband Mathew of Pinellas Park, Florida, Tricia (Scofield) Burns and her husband Marty of Philip; stepbrothers, Todd (Karen) Heinricy of Sioux Falls and  Dan (Jen) Heinricy of Parker; several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
