Adam Anthony Hartman, 28, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Brookings, passed away Dec. 15, 2018, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls.  

Memorial Services have been set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Rude’s Funeral Home, Brookings. Memorial Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Rude’s Funeral Home, Brookings.

Adam Anthony Hartman was born on May 28, 1990, in Brookings, the son of Jeffrey Hartman and Michelle (Lathrop) Kampmann. He grew up and attended school in Brookings, graduating from Brookings High School, in 2008. He briefly attended Southeast Technical Institute studying small engine repair. Growing up, Adam was very involved with Motocross. It was truly his passion. He loved teaching his sister, Sierra, how to ride motorcycles. He held various jobs over the years in Brookings and Sioux Falls, spending a majority of his time working in the HVAC industry.

Adam loved spending time with his family and friends. He held a very special bond with his siblings and cousins. Bean bags, boating and socializing with people were the joys of his life. He was extremely outgoing and quick to make friends with those who he would meet. His niece, Ella, held a very special place in his heart.

Because of his love for others, Adam was able to give the ultimate gift in his untimely death, in donating his organs to those in need of his lifesaving decision. Three people will now carry Adam’s legacy on because of his selfless act.

Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Jeffrey (Trudi) Hartman, of Brookings, mother, Michelle (Kyle) Kampmann, of Hendricks, MN; three siblings, Jeffrey (Randi) Hartman Jr, of Brookings, Katie Hartman, of Sioux Falls, and Sierra Hartman, of Brookings; niece, Ella Brooke; step-siblings, Jeremy Kambel, of Las Vegas, NV, Zachary (Maymy) Kambel, of Honolulu, HI; Jill (Nate) Quam, of Brookings, Dayna Kambel, of Brookings and Sheridan Kampmann, of Sioux Falls; maternal grandparents, Vern and Shirley Lathrop, of Brookings,; paternal grandmother, Delores Hartman, of Brookings, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Hartman, Sr; step-sister, Sydney Kampmann and one aunt, Cecilia Hartman.
