BROOKINGS – Angela Roden, owner of Allegra in downtown Brookings announced the recipients of this year’s Allegra Footprint Fund, which helps nonprofit organizations “leave a footprint” in the community by awarding print and graphic design services for promotional and informational materials.

This year’s award recipients include: Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, Brookings Area Camp Adventure, Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity, Brookings Area United Way, Brookings Arts Council, Brookings Backpack Project, Brookings Behavioral Health, Brookings County Food Pantry, Brookings County 4-H, Brookings County Historical Society, Brookings County Salvation Army, Brookings County Youth Mentoring Program, Brookings Domestic Abuse Shelter, Brookings Empowerment Project, Brookings Kiwanis Club, Brookings Lions Club, Kelly McGeough Foundation, Satyagraba Institute, The Shepherd’s Gift: GMI for HD, South Dakota Humanities Council, South Dakota Youth Foundation, Volga Christian School and Volunteer Service Bank.

The Allegra Footprint Fund, launched earlier this year, awards $5,000 annually to nonprofit organizations and associations seeking financial assistance for graphic design and printing of brochures, newsletters, forms, invitations, posters and other print communications.

Applicants that qualify are eligible to receive up to $500 each.

Award recipients were selected by a review panel based on how print services will be used to further organization goals including service expansion, program enhancement and maximization of existing resources, as well as the organization’s innovation and resourcefulness.

“Allegra in Brookings is proud to be part of a community that has so many fine organizations,” Roden said. “This year’s winners of the Footprint Fund demonstrate the type of commitment and ingenuity that we are looking for in recipients of this award. We are honored to support them in their local efforts.”

Allegra launched the Footprint Fund as part of its Community Care Campaign, a nationwide effort supported by the company’s franchise headquarters, Alliance Franchise Brands. Footprint Fund was developed to help unite and strengthen local communities by assisting eligible nonprofit organizations and associations in building their awareness and increasing local support.

To be considered for a Footprint Fund award, nonprofit groups, associations and charitable organizations with a main office or branch in Brookings County must submit a completed application.

Applications will be available in the fall of 2020 at 301 Main Ave. or via email at orders@allegrabrookings.com.

“The Footprint Fund program is intended to make it a little easier for our community organizations to make a difference, one step at a time,” said Roden. “And it is a way for us at Allegra to thank the community for its ongoing business and support.”
