BROOKINGS – With South Dakota State University closed to activities through May 15, Prairie Striders Running Club has decided to cancel the Arbor Day 5K, which had been scheduled for April 24.
Runners are encouraged to log their own 5K that Friday morning, take a photo of themselves by their favorite tree and post it to the Prairie Striders Facebook page.
The club had two other races on its spring calendar.
• The I’m Ready for Summer Triathlon, which had been scheduled for April 25, has been postponed with a new date pending.
• The Brookings Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay have been postponed from May 16 to Sept. 12.
Also, the club’s monthly meeting, which had been scheduled for April 7, has been canceled.
