The Badgers’ Josh McMasters recorded eight tackles, while Nate Kersting added five tackles and three sacks.

Wyat James, Camden Miller, and Jon Nefzger each had six tackles for the Redhawks.

• Deubrook Area 26, Waverly-South Shore 7

WAVERLY – Gavin Landmark ran for 241 yards and three touchdowns as the Deubrook Area Dolphins picked up their first win of the season on Friday night in Waverly.

Landmark also hauled in three passes for 27 yards.

Nolan Peterson, JP Rogness, and Jaxon Quail each had two receptions for Deubrook Area.

Defensively, Rogness and Quail each recorded an interception.

The Dolphins did not qualify for the 9AA playoffs after finishing their season at 1-7.

• McCook Central/Montrose 41, Flandreau 18

SALEM – Flandreau’s Tanner Christenson threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns, but the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars scored a 41-18 win on Friday night in Salem.

“Our guys left it all on the field Friday night against another ranked opponent,” Fliers head coach Derek Genzlinger said. “This was another game that the score doesn’t indicate how close it was. Our defense was lockdown in the second half only allowing one score with two minutes left in the game.”

“Turnovers hurt us again,” Genzlinger added. “We had a couple turnovers in the red zone that if we score those we would have had a great chance at the end.”

Christenson also picked up 85 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

Tash Lunday caught both of Christenson’s touchdown passes, totaling 55 yards on seven catches in the game.

Thomas Perez caught four passes for 89 yards.

On defense, Ethan Hoffman led the Fliers with 12 tackles, two pass breakups, and an interception.

Lunday added seven tackles, Kolby Peters had six, and Christenson recorded five tackles and had an interception.

Flandreau finished the year 2-6 and did not qualify for the 11B playoffs.
