Area VB: Cyclones beat Fliers

FLANDREAU – Clark/Willow Lake topped Flandreau in four sets Tuesday night and improved to 2-3 in the Lake Central Conference. The Cyclones took the first set 25-21 and the Fliers bounced back and took the next set 25-20. Clark/Willow Lake then took the final two sets 26-24 and 25-20.

Jaycie Forbes had a team-high 26 digs for the Cyclones. Olivia Sass had 10 kills and seven blocks. Erica Juntunen led Clark/Willow Lake with 16 kills. Morgan Burke had 19 assists and three aces. Allison Kannegieter had 15 digs.

Hannah Parsley led the Fliers with 17 digs seven kills and three blocks. Hannah Parsley and Madison Kontz had seven kills as well. Kontz had three blocks. and Shalyn Peters had 19 assists. Macy Kneebone had 14 digs, 12 assists and four aces. Kennedy Headrick had four blocks too.

The Fliers will host Parker on Oct. 22. 

 Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Deuel 0

CLEAR LAKE –Elkton-Lake Benton improved to 16-6 on the season after sweeping Deuel 25-19, 25-18, 25-16.

Hannah Krog led Elkton-Lake Benton with 11 kills and 22 digs. Julia Drietz had a team-high 22 assists for the Lady Elks and she also had seven digs. Aubrey Wirth had eight kills. Rachel Krog had seven digs and two aces. Brooklyn Nielsen had six digs and Kailyn Drietz  had one block and two aces.

Saycia Sime had a team-high 16 digs for the Cardinals. She also had four kills. Twlya Rossow led Deuel with eight kills and had 11 digs. Harley Hennings had five digs and two aces. Sarah Ronne had 17 assists.

The Lady Elks will face Colman-Egan at home on Thursday night.

 Freeman 3, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 0

RAMONA – The Flyers improved to 15-5 after winning in three sets Tuesday against the Raiders 25-21, 25-14, 25-16.

Emily Miuer had 12 kills, five digs and one block for Freeman. Rijjy Peterson had eight kills, four digs and three aces. Odalite Pankratz had seven kills and seven aces. Cara Maske had a team-high 26 assists.

Sine Matson had a team-high 17 digs for ORR. Kylie Anderson had 21 digs, three kills and two aces. Julia Trygstad had five kills and six digs. Khloe Tieman had 16 assists.

The Raiders will be playing in the Dakota Valley Conference Tournament Saturday and the Flyers will return home and play Viborg-Hurley on Oct. 21.
