Area volleyball teams compete at Arlington tourney


ARLINGTON – Warner finished a perfect 5-0 in Saturday’s round-robin tournament held in Arlington.

The host Cardinals finished at 4-1 and Burke ended at 3-2.

Elkton-Lake Benton claimed a pair of wins in finishing 2-3, while the Faulkton Area Trojans picked up a win in finishing the tournament at 1-4.

The Deubrook Area Dolphins finished tournament play at 0-5.

Arlington (6-3) next plays tomorrow night, hosting Waverly-South Shore at 7 p.m.

Elkton-Lake Benton (4-4) heads to Chester Area tomorrow night at 7 p.m.

Deubrook Area (4-5) travels to Webster Area to face the Bearcats at 7 p.m.

 Elkton-Lake Benton 2, Deubrook Area 1

Elkton-Lake Benton rallied after losing the first set to Deubrook Area to pick up a 2-1 match win.

Set scores were 19-25, 32-30, and 25-19.

Aubree Bales paced the Lady Elks with ten kills, Madisyn Nielsen added seven, and Rachael Krog and Kailyn Drietz each had six.

Tevan Erickson added 23 set assists.

Krog had a match-high 17 kills and Kylie Ramlo added nine.

For the Dolphins, Emma Vandermeer led all attackers with 15 kills and Miranda Moravetz added five.

Brooke Koppascheck provided 15 set assists and Ellie Koenig provided 12 while also having three service aces.

Moravetz and Koenig each had 12 kills.

Tournament host Arlington picked up a straight-set win over Elkton-Lake Benton, 2-0, by set scores of 25-15 and 25-17.

Hadley Carlson had 14 kills to lead the Cardinals and Erin Haufschild added five.

Grace Perry’s 22 set assists were a game-high.

Carlson and Perry also contributed five digs each, and Perry added three aces.

For E-LB, Rachael Krog had four kills and seven digs.

Tevan Erickson led the Lady Elks with ten set assists, and Kinsley Krog provided four digs.

 Warner 2, Elkton-Lake Benton 0

Warner picked up a win over Elkton-Lake Benton in straight sets, 25-17 and 25-23.

The Monarchs were led by Jennifer Aman with eight kills, and Kyra Marcuson with seven.

Ava Nilsson had 22 set assists.

Courtney Bjorgaard had a game-high 16 digs while also dropping in 12 service aces.

For the Lady Elks, Rachael Krog led the team with six kills and Kailyn Drietz provided four.

Tevan Erickson paced E-LB with 15 set assists.

Krog had 13 digs, while Kylie Ramlo and Erickson added seven and six, respectively.

 Arlington 2, Burke 0

The host Cardinals claimed a two-set win over Burke, 25-21 and 25-12.

Hadley Carlson provided 18 kills, Erin Hausfchild five, and Morgan Larsen four.

Grace Perry had 27 set assists, and both Larsen and Harley Johnson each provided five digs.

The Lady Cougars picked up five kills from Adisyn Indahl, while both Elle Johnson and Indahl added ten digs each.

 Burke 2, Deubrook Area 0

The Lady Cougars won sets of 25-21 and 25-18 in defeating the Deubrook Area Dolphins.

Emma Vandermeer led the Dolphins with six kills and Kyarra Blum added five.

Brooke Koppatschek added nine set assists while Ellie Koenig provided five assists.

Delaney Petersen and Koenig each had eight digs.

For Burke, Adisyn Indahl had a match-high eight kills and Kailee Frank had six kills.

Ava Sargent and Elly Witt each had five set assists.

Indahl provided 18 kills and Sargent chipped in with nine.
