Arlington man dies following Sept. 28 crash

ARLINGTON – An Arlington man has died of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash that occurred last month about 10 miles southwest of Arlington.

The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Wesley Decker of Arlington.

At about 8:55 a.m. Sept. 28, a pickup westbound on 217th Street was struck by a pickup that had been northbound on 451st Avenue. The two vehicles collided in the uncontrolled intersection. 

Decker was driving the westbound pickup. He suffered life-threatening injuries and died on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The other driver, 29-year-old Cody Bunker of Arlington, sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
