He was a beloved dad, grandpa, friend and neighbor

Arlyn was born June 7, 1933, on a farm south of Lake Preston to George and Mabel (Holland) Jensen. He attended country school until the 8th grade and graduated from Lake Preston High School.

On Oct. 2, 1953, he married Iylla Mae Falla. They had four children: Cindy Jensen of Brookings, Charmaine (Dean) Bjorklund of Lake Preston,, Dolly (Rick) Chayer of Sperry, Oklahoma, and Connie Jensen.  He has three grandchildren, Koreen Bjorklund of Aldie, Virgina, Kasey Bjorklund of Watertown and Shay Thomas of St, Cloud, Minnesota.

He farmed south of Lake Preston for 44 years.  After retirement he bought property outside of Custer.  He and Iylla Mae loved the Black Hills and spent all their summers there.  Arlyn loved to take to the trails in the Hills in his side-by-side.  He was always arranging a ride with his Black Hills friends and always willing to entertain and open his home to everyone from “back home.”  During the winter months, he spent countless hours in his wood shop.  He loved his SDSU Jackrabbits and rarely missed a basketball game.

He was preceded in death by his wife Iylla Mae, daughter, Connie and brother, Clayton Jensen.
