Baltic drops Sioux Valley in four sets

VOLGA – Baltic beat Sioux Valley 25-17, 22-25, 26-24, 25-15 during Big East Conference volleyball action Thursday night.

Shelby Dosch paced the Lady Bulldogs (7-13, 1-5) with 15 kills, 17 digs and 12 set assists.

Kelsey Keating had 10 kills and a block. Elyssa Clark contributed five kills, three service aces and a block.

Sami Polzin, who had three aces, came up with 35 digs and Kylie Schneider added 20. Amber Hartman tallied 17 set assists.

For the Cossacks, who played their home regular-season finale, Miakken Vincent ended up with eight kills, two solo blocks, eight set assists and seven digs.

Rylan Willis recorded seven kills and a solo block, while Alicia VanderWal had five kills.

Bekah Bahn notched 30 digs.

Sioux Valley (8-22, 0-5) travels to Chester Area on Tuesday.

Colman-Egan 1

COLMAN – Elkton-Lake Benton defeated Colman-Egan 25-12, 25-18, 25-27, 25-20 in a Dakota Valley Conference volleyball match Thursday night.

Hannah Krog finished with 17 kills and three blocks for the Lady Elks (13-10, 6-1). Aubrey Wirth, who had a pair of blocks, and Emily Miller added nine kills apiece.

Julia Drietz dished out 38 set assists and netted a service ace. Rachel Krog came up with 19 digs, and Jesse Busselman and Brooklyn Nielson tallied 16 apiece. Kailyn Drietz had two aces.

For the Hawks (10-10, 3-4), Mackenzie Hemmer had eight kills and Katie Hannasch seven to go with three blocks. Olivia Baumberger also had three blocks, while Jordan Wittrock, Braiden Westley and Elizabeth Moore both notched a pair of aces.

Kennedi Landis and Wittrock both recorded 14 set assists. Westley tallied 41 digs, Olivia Baumberger 19 and Moore 16.

The Dakota Valley Conference Volleyball Tournament is Saturday in Castlewood.

LAKE PRESTON – The Lady Bulldogs won the DVC matchup 25-14, 25-22, 25-20.

Rynn Osthus had eight kills, five aces and two blocks. Kennadi Buchholz and Autumn Wilkinson both added five kills.

The Divers’ Lindsay Hillestad totaled 10 kills and eight digs. Lexie Larsen had five kills and 10 set assists. Annika Nelson contributed five kills, a block and six digs.

Marissa Rober netted a pair of aces and Ava Malone came up with 10 digs.

De Smet improved to 9-11 (3-4) and Lake Preston dropped to 2-17 (0-7).

The DVC Tournament is Saturday in Castlewood.
