BROOKINGS – Brookings Country Club is offering PGA Jr. League for boys and girls ages 13-and-under of all skill levels, and registration is now open.
Families can visit PGAJrLeague.com to learn more, locate Brookings Country Club PGA Jr. League program and register online by the deadline of May 1
This program is open to the public you do not have to be a BCC member to participate.
PGA Jr. League brings boys and girls together to learn and play golf on co-ed teams, with expert coaching from PGA and LPGA Professionals. Players compete in a two-person scramble format that encourages mentorship and builds confidence.
In 2019, a record of more than 60,000 boys and girls participated in PGA Jr. League across the country.
“PGA Jr. League is such a great way to introduce kids to golf, or for experienced golfers to enjoy a fun and relaxed format,” said Zac Gavlak, PGA, GM/Director of Golf at Brookings Country Club. “Best of all, families can feel confident that their children are learning a lifetime sport in a safe and nurturing way.”
The local program is captained by Gavlak.
The cost is $250.
Each player will receive a kit that includes two jerseys (one orange and one blue); bag tag; stickers; hat; performance t-shirt; and drawstring bag.
Additionally, the program includes four practices, six games and discounts on junior merchandise.
The season runs from June 1-July 31. The schedule is as follows:
• Practice: Monday, June 1, 8, 15 and 29 at 6 p.m.
• Games: Sunday, June 7, 14, 28 and July 12, 19 and 26 at 4:30 p.m.
