BROOKINGS – For the third year in a row, the South Dakota State University football team will conduct an on-campus Be The Match marrow registry drive.

This year’s drive will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the University Student Union.

The event is held in conjunction with the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation, which is named after the former Villanova football coach.

Additional local support is provided by the SDSU Love Your Melon Campus Crew.

In the two previous years of the on-campus marrow registry drive, 724 people have been added to the National Marrow Donor Registry, with one transplant performed among local donors.

The screening takes only a few minutes and consists of filling out a questionnaire and performing a cheek swab.
