Beef and Eggs 5K a success

The 2019 Beef and Eggs 5K is in the books, and we would like to take a moment to thank those who helped us pull off our 15th annual event.

We started this event as SDSU track/cross country students with the intention to create a race for the runners, offering everything we possibly could back to the runners in exchange for an affordable entry fee.

This past weekend included our largest cash prize giveaway to date of $1,200 to aspiring post-collegiate runners. That, along with several other perks for the runners, could not be accomplished without the help of our sponsors, supporters, participants and volunteers.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the South Dakota Beef Industry Council, South Dakota Poultry Industries Association, First Bank and Trust of Brookings, Foerster Distributing, and Casey’s General Store for their sponsorship support. Also thank you to 605 Running Co. for their added support of the Prairie Striders Running Club, along with the Boys and Girls Club of Brookings and the Brookings Police Department for their volunteer services.

Finally, thank you to the City of Brookings and Brookings Park and Rec department, along with Coach Rod DeHaven from Jackrabbit Athletic Department. We look forward to July 11, 2020, for the 16th running of the Beef and Eggs 5K!
