BHS Athletic Awards Banquet 2019


BROOKINGS – Bobcats were honored Monday at the BHS Athletic Awards Ceremony at Brookings High School.

The honorees included:

BELOW 1: Outstanding Senior Athlete Award: Tucker Christie.

BELOW 2: Monogram Club Coach of the Year Award: Mitch McLagan.

BELOW 3: Senior Jacob Schoon won his second consecutive Class A state wrestling title, prevailing at 182 pounds after taking the 170-pound crown as a junior.  He was named the SDHSCA Wrestler of the Year.

Senior Michaela Jewett was a Class AA All-State first-team selection in both basketball and volleyball. She earned a spot on the Class AA All-Tournament team at state in both sports, and was a finalist for Miss Basketball and Miss Volleyball. She was a SDHSCA Player of the Year finalist in basketball.

Junior Ellie Abraham was named Gatorade Girls’ Cross Country South Dakota Athlete of the Year.

Junior Gus Miller won the Class A state wrestling title at 220 pounds.
