Big wheels keep city moving

BROOKINGS – The Brookings Public Library held a Transportation Fair outside the Children’s Museum of South Dakota on Wednesday.

Children were able to experience what it looks like behind the wheel of a fire truck, police car and other Brookings Street Department and business vehicles.

John Miraglia helps children up and down on the street cleaner, which was one of the different vehicles on display. Kids were even allowed to play with the horn.

Terry McKeown and Jenny Jasper show the kids how the wheel chair accessibility lift helps people get on and off a Brookings Area Transit Authority bus.

The Brookings Public Library’s next Super Special Wednesday of the summer features musician Phil Baker at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. July 5 in the library.
