Bismarck edges Blizzard, 4-3

BISMARCK, N.D. – The Bobcats netted a pair of late goals to beat the Blizzard 4-3 in an NAHL Central Division game Saturday night at the VFW Sports Center.

Adam Stacho scored on assists from Austin Jouppi and Tim Piechowski with 7:15 remaining.

Alex Pollock had the game-winner with 4:06 left. Daniel Chladek and Jackson Olsen assisted.

It was a back-and-forth game early.

Bismarck struck first on Ryan Taylor’s goal 2:13 into the game. Ryan Robinson and Andy Stoneman were credited with assists.

Brookings answered as TJ Koufis lit the lamp with assists from Tyler Hinterser and Dumas.

Stoneman’s unassisted tally put the home team up 2-1.

Bud Winter tied things up with 2:43 to go in the period. Dumas and Ryan Green assisted.

Koufis’ second tally gave the Blizzard a 3-2 lead with 17:50 to play in the game. Dumas picked up his third assist of the night and Anthony Szurlej was also credited with a helper.

Atticus Kelly stopped 21 shots to earn the win between the pipes for Bismarck (28-18-2-1, 59 points). Brookings’ Jack Caruso stopped 34 shots.

The Blizzard (9-37-3-1, 22 points) play at Austin on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
