BROOKINGS – The Bombers Black closed out pool-play action in the 14U division of the Cubby’s Sports Bar and Grill Tournament with a perfect record to advance to Sunday’s title game, but it wasn’t meant to be as Brandon Valley shut out Brookings to earn the championship.

On Saturday, Black rolled over Renner, 18-3, in the opener and then knocked off the Sioux Falls Cyclones, 6-4, in the nightcap.

But on Sunday, Brandon Valley posted a 10-0 shutout to claim the championship.

Brookings travels to Sioux Falls on Wednesday to face East in a 5 p.m. doubleheader.
