Blaze destroys house near White

WHITE – A house was deemed a total loss after a fire Tuesday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire was reported at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and occurred at 47428 202nd St., northwest of White, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

“The White Fire Department, White Ambulance, and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home that was on fire,” Sebring said.

The White Fire Department requested assistance, and the Brookings Fire Department and Aurora Fire Department responded to assist.

“The fire was extinguished, but the home was a complete loss. No injuries were reported,” Sebring said.

“It appears that the fire started in the garage, but the cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The fire is under investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office,” he said.
