Bobcat bowlers split at O’Gorman


SIOUX FALLS – The Bobcats split with the Knights on Friday at Eastway Bowl, as Brookings won the boys’ match 35.5-14.5 and O’Gorman prevailed on the girls’ side by a 26.5-23.5 margin.

Alex Couser rolled a 617 (191-202-224) series, Evan Vernarsky a 581 (225-174-182), Carter Hieb a 559 (167-188-204), Aarick Dicke a 537 (177-180-180), and Lee Krueger (156-199-152) and Mason McManus (195-156-156) both 507.

For the girls, Kyra Ernst had a 569 (222-186-161) series, Brooklyn Hieb 473 (123-172-178), Ellie Fitzpatrick a 426 ( 133-160-133), Alison Marshall a 415 (136-143-136), Katlyn Pederson a 403 (156-116-131) and Abby Fitzpatrick a 382 (140-137-105).

The junior varsity boys’ match ended in a 25-all tie. Stanley Scubelek recorded a 461 (177-166-118) series, Gabe Boyer a 420 (124-135-161) and David Eberline a 372 (126-129-117).

OG won the JV girls’ matchup 38-7. Brooke Seeley notched a 425 (116-160-149) series.

Brookings closes the regular season facing McCook Central/Montrose on Friday at 4 p.m. at Thunder Alley in Salem.
