WATERTOWN – The Brookings competitive cheer and dance team participated in the Easter South Dakota Conference Competition on Thursday.
The Bobcats finished in eighth in cheer and ninth in dance.
Dance
Brookings finished in ninth place in the grand champion dance with a score of 215.75. Brandon Valley came in first with a 297. Yankton came In second (282.50) and Harrisburg finished in third (280.25).
The Bobcats came in fifth in the jazz portion. They had no deductions and scored a 209.5. Brandon Valley took first with a 298.5 and Harrisburg came in second with a 275. Yankton finished in third (271) and Aberdeen Central came in fourth (243).
Brookings finished in seventh in pom. The Bobcats scored a 222 with one deduction. Brandon Valley came in first with a 295.5. Yankton finished in second (294) and Pierre came in third (259).
Cheer
The Bobcats came in eighth with a score of 167.5. They had 22 points deducted. Harrisburg came in first with a 262.5. Watertown was second (214.5) and Brandon Valley finished in third (207).
The South Dakota State Cheer and Dance Competition is Oct. 23 at Brandon Valley.
