WHITE – A Bobcat skid steer was damaged after it caught fire Sunday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was reported at 3:09 p.m. Sunday in rural White, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.
“It was found that the owner had plugged the skid steer in to warm it up before using it. The owner advised that a short time later, he noticed fire coming from the back of the Bobcat. Once the White Fire Department arrived, they extinguished the fire,” Sebring said.
The Bobcat sustained some $12,000 worth of damage, he said, adding the fire is under investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
