The Bobcats were outshot in the match, 14-5.

“As a team I think we played pretty good defensively,” said Brookings junior striker Drew Ton. “Offensively we struggled to find the back of the net, but we are going to put this one behind us and look forward to the Lincoln game.”

The Bobcats are now 2-5-1 on the seaso and take on the Patriots of Sioux Falls Lincoln on Sept. 14. Start time for the match is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Howard Wood Field.

The Gazelles finished with three corner kick opportunities compared to the Bobcats’ one.

“An absolutely fantastic game tonight,” said head coach Adam Juba. “We got a great result from a good team. We keep getting better game by game and the girls are playing with so much heart. We completed so many passes today that caused a lot of problems for Yankton.”

“We are getting better at a really good time in the season; I’m excited to see how we progress,” Juba said.

Brookings (1-6-1) next plays on Sept. 14 against Sioux Falls Lincoln. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Howard Wood Field.
