Bobcat softball splits doubleheader with Mitchell

BROOKINGS – The Brookings softball team split a doubleheader with Mitchell last week. The Bobcats fell game one, but bounced back with a win in game two.

Game one

 Mitchell 7, Brookings 6

Mitchell won in walk off fashion in game one. The Bobcats did have nine hits in the game. Jessa Rindels and Skylar Hinricher each had two hits.

Rindels took the loss for Brookings. She pitched five innings allowing five hits and seven runs. Rindels struck out five batters.

Game two

 Brookings 12, Mitchell 7

Sydney Grendler had a big game in the second game. She drove in four runs on three hits. Grendler hit a double and a home run. Rindels had an RBI double as well.

Annika Hawks got the win for the Bobcats. She pitched five innings and gave up seven runs on nine hits. She struck out five batters.

Brookings had 11 hits in the game. Grendel, Rindels and Tess Pantzke each had two hits for the Bobcats.
