Bobcats boys’, girls’ soccer fall to Aberdeen Central

ABERDEEN – The Brookings soccer teams both suffered tough losses to Aberdeen Central Tuesday. The boys lost 6-1 and the girls fell 10-0.

Boys

• Aberdeen Central 6, Brookings 1

The Bobcats were outshot 13-5 in the game. 

The Golden Eagles scored three goals in a span of five minutes in the first half. They scored in the eighth, 10th and 13th minute.

Aberdeen Central then went up 4-0 with a goal in the 65th minute on a penalty kick. They would then go up 5-0 in the 78th minute.

The Bobcats finally got on the board in the in the 88th  minute. Rylan Eide found Carter Johnson for the goal. The Golden Eagles didn’t let Brookings celebrate for long as they scored just seconds later to make it 6-1.

Johnson had two shots with one of them being on goal. Jacob Kappenman had two shots and Keiji Numata had one.

The Bobcats will play Sioux Falls O’Gorman at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Fishback Soccer Park.

Girls

 Aberdeen Central 10, Brookings 0

Aberdeen Central got the scoring going early as they scored in the first minute of the game and scored three goals in the first 10 minutes. The Golden Eagles were up 7-0 at halftime.

The Bobcats had just one shot in the game and it came from Maddix Archer.

Brookings plays Sioux Falls O’Gorman at noon on Saturday in Brookings.
