Bobcats defeat OG, Lincoln

BROOKINGS – The Bobcats edged Sioux Falls O’Gorman, 137.550-137.250, to win a gymnastics triangular on Tuesday at Bob Jostad Gymnasium.

Sioux Falls Lincoln totaled 129.950 points for third.

Lily Siemonsma’s 34.5 was good for second in the all-around behind the Lady Knight’s Lizzie Miller, who won the all-around with a 36.25.

Marah Dobrenski was fourth in the all-around with a 33.850, while Cydne Munson placed sixth (33.1) and Rachel Gannon finished 11th (31.55).

Siemonsma took second on the uneven bars with an 8.85; was sixth in the floor exercise with an 8.9; tied for fifth on the vault with an 8.55; and placed eighth on the beam with an 8.2.

Dobrenski won the vault with an 8.75; took fourth on the floor with a 9.1; placed sixth on the bars with an 8.3; and finished 13th on the beam with a 7.7.

Munson tied for seventh on the bars with an 8.25; tied for eighth on the vault with an 8.5; finished 10th on the beam with an 8.05; and was 11th on the floor exercise with an 8.3.

Gannon tied for first on the floor with a 9.3; tied for fourth on the beam with an 8.4; tied for eighth on the vault with an 8.5; and was 19th on the bars with a 5.35.

Top-10 individual performances for the ‘Cats included Maci Law’s third place on the floor (9.15); tie for fourth on the bars (8.35); and tie for fourth on the beam (8.4); and Tayla Dobrenski’s tie for seventh on the bars (8.25) and tie for eighth on the vault (8.5).

On Saturday, Brookings competes in the Watertown Invitational. Competition starts at noon at the Civic Arena.
