MITCHELL – The Bobcat boys’ tennis team opened the season with 8-1 losses to Aberdeen Roncalli and Mitchell on Tuesday.
Brookings heads to Sioux Falls Lincoln for a triangular on Thursday, facing the host Patriots at noon and Harrisburg at 5:30 p.m.

The Bobcats’ Jonah Dobbs pulled out a 3-6, 6-2, 10-6 victory over Isaiah Vilhauer in the No. 1 singles match.
Micah Ardry dropped a tough three-set match to Joseph Goetz at No. 3, falling 5-7, 6-2, 10-5.
The Cavaliers won the other four singles matches in straight sets and swept the doubles matches, including a 10-5 triumph by Vilhauer and Lucas Goetz over Dobbs and Dalton Rittershaus in the No. 1 matchup.

The Kernels won the other five singles matches in straight sets, dropping just 10 games.
Jared Suelflow topped Dobbs 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 match.
Mitchell rolled to a trio a 10-0 victories in doubles.
