Bobcats fall to Marshall, Cossacks sweep Beresford

Brookings and Sioux Valley both played volleyball matches on the road over the weekend. The Bobcats were swept by Marshall (Minn.), while the Cossacks swept Beresford.

 Marshall 3, Brookings 0

The Tigers swept the Bobcats in three sets in Marshall on Saturday afternoon, winning by scores of 25-5, 25-6, 25-11.

Gracie Adamson led the way for the Bobcats, leading the team with eight assists and eight digs. Tess Burns had a team-high three blocks with Gracey Sheridan and Adamson pitching in with two digs each. Tayla Dobrenski and Calista Rohl led Brookings with three kills each.

The Bobcats fell to 4-9 with the loss and will travel to Sioux Falls Jefferson on Tuesday night.

 Sioux Valley 3, Beresford 0

The Cossacks defeated the Watchdogs in three sets in Beresford on Saturday night, winning by scores of 25-23, 25-11, 25-17.

Landree Wilson led the way for Sioux Valley with a team-high 10 kills while Kaedyn Sapp and Addison Renkly added nine kills each. Sapp also added a team-high 21 digs in the victory while Talya Vincent had 16 digs and Renkly and Sunny Hesby added 11 digs each. Ashley Bjerke also had seven digs for the Cossacks. Renkly and Bjerke also added five blocks each.

Maddie Erickson and Megan DeLay had seven kills each for the Watchdogs while Rachel Zanter had a team-high 16 digs. Autumn Namminga and Larissa Tiedeman also had nine digs each while Mckayla Roelke had six digs for Beresford.

The Cossacks improved to 13-5 with the win and will travel to Hamlin on Tuesday night. The Watchdogs fell to 8-12 and will travel to Flandreau on Tuesday night.
