BROOKINGS – It looked as if Thursday’s nonconference match between the Bobcats and Sioux Falls Lincoln was going to end in a scoreless draw at Fishback Soccer Park.

But with less than three minutes to play, the Patriots’ Nicholas Leach gathered a loose ball after a Brookings header and scored the game winner.

Both Mohamed Ismail and Daniyil Potapenko had two shots on goal in the first half as Potapenko took the only shot on goal in the second for the ‘Cats.

Blake Brettschneider came up with nine saves in the loss.

Brookings finished with four corner kicks to Lincoln’s two as the Bobcats dropped to 3-1-1 overall

The ‘Cats play host to Brandon Valley on Saturday in a 2 p.m. contest at Fishback.
