Bobcats go 1-2 in home quadrangular

BROOKINGS – The Bobcats went 1-2 in a boys’ tennis quadrangular Saturday at Hillcrest, sandwiching a 6-3 loss to Aberdeen Central and a 5-4 setback to Yankton around a 5-4 win over Huron.

Brookings (6-9) plays host to Sioux Falls Christian today at 4 p.m.

 Aberdeen Central 6, Brookings 3

The Bobcats’ Dalton Rittershaus beat Nic Allen 10-1 at No. 2 singles. He teamed with Jonah Dobbs for a 10-6 victory over Jesse Margolies and Andrew Hartz in the No. 1 doubles match.

Dawson Peters topped Hartz 10-4 at No. 4 singles.

Margolies defeated Dobbs 10-5 in the No. 1 singles matchup.

The Bobcats won the Nos. 1-4 singles matches and added one victory in doubles to take the dual.

Jonah Dobbs beat Brenden Schlader at No. 1 and Dalton Rittershaus topped Reese Uecker at No. 2. Both matches ended 10-2.

The Bobcat duo added a 10-2 victory over the Tiger team at No. 1 doubles.

Micah Ardry won 10-8 over Kevin Baltzer in the No. 3 singles match. Dawson Peters added a 10-4 defeat of Eh Dah at No. 4.

The Bobcats again won the top four singles matches; however, the Bucks were victorious at Nos. 5 and 6 and swept the doubles matches to secure the dual win.

Jonah Dobbs was a 10-3 victor over Hunter Rockne at No. 1 singles.

Dalton Rittershaus beat Sam Mooney 11-10 (4) at No. 2. Micah Ardry dropped Gerrit Dykstra 10-5 at No. 3. Dawson Peters prevailed by an 11-9 margin over Isaac Klimisch in the No. 4 match.

Rockne and Mooney teamed for an 11-9 win over Dobbs and Rittershaus at No. 1 doubles.
