Bobcats go 3-0 in home quadrangular

Vermillion, Milbank and Harrisburg fall to BHS

BROOKINGS – The Bobcat boys’ tennis team went 3-0 in a home quadrangular Friday at Hillcrest, beating Vermillion 5-1, Milbank 9-0 and Harrisburg 5-4.

Brookings takes on Roosevelt today at 9 a.m.

The Bobcats won five of the six contested matches to pick up their first dual victory of the season.

Micah Ardry dropped Emile Kahn 10-4 at No. 3 singles and Dawson Peters defeated Liam Mechling 10-1 at No. 4. The Brookings duo beat the Tanager tandem 11-9 at No. 2 doubles.

At No. 5 singles, Derek Brallier picked up a 10-2 win over Nic Harris. He and Gabel Goldhorn were 10-4 victors over Harris and Ramiro LaFuenta in the No. 3 doubles matchup.

Note: Vermillion only had four players and did not compete in No 1 singles, No. 2 singles or No. 1 doubles.

The Bobcats dropped just five games in the shutout of the Bulldogs.

Jonah Dobbs was a 10-0 victor over Nathan Loutsch at No. 1 singles and Dalton Rittershaus also swept Isaac Perez in the No. 2 matchup.

Dobbs and Rittershaus added a 10-0 defeat of Loutsch and Perez in No. 1 doubles.

Ardry (No. 3) beat Marcos Basillio and Peters (No. 4) dropped Aiden Boerger, both by 10-0 margins. The Brookings team won 10-1 over the Bulldog duo at No. 2 doubles.

Brallier (No. 5) and Goldhorn (No. 6) added 10-1 wins in singles play, beating Bennett Street and Keegan Wheeler, respectively. The Brallier/Goldhorn team prevailed by a 10-2 margin in doubles.

The Bobcats won two of the three doubles matches and the teams split in singles as the home team capped a perfect day on the courts.

Dobbs cruised past Desmond Looft 10-0 at No. 1 singles.

Rittershaus won 10-5 over Colby Reynolds at No. 2.

Peters pulled out a key 11-9 victory against Gavin Hatch in the No. 4 matchup.

In doubles, Dobbs and Rittershaus defeated Connor Sperber and Jacob Hanssen at No. 1.

Ardry and Peters tallied a 10-8 triumph over Reynolds and Hatch at No. 2.
